CHEMICAL PEELS

The Chemical Peels we offer are referred to as medium depth peels. This procedure can improve a number of skin conditions such as sun damage, some wrinkles, blemishes and acne scars, or blotchiness. The skin will look younger, tighter and fresher than before, although these peels cannot remove all facial flaws. Reactions to chemical peels are similar to a sunburn and range from a mild to a more pronounced burn. Generally, the deeper the peel, the longer the recovery period, but the better the results.

Medium Peels cause a remodeling of the collagen bed in the dermis and an increase in the elastic fibers. This is important because collagen and elastin are the main structural proteins in the dermis. As we age, the dermal collagen and elastin fibers decrease, resulting in thinner skin. This is accelerated by sun or tanning bed exposure and is the major factor causing fine lines and wrinkles linked to premature aging. Our chemical peels are a safe and effective treatment for skin rejuvenation.

JESSNER Peel

This is a favorite for correcting small wrinkles, fine lines, and reducing acne breakout. A beautiful, radiant complexion is the result of this popular deep peel. For best results three peels are recommended. Multiple visits are required for each peel, consisting of a consultation and patch test, application of the chemical solution, and a post treatment facial. The average healing time is ten days. During the first five days, the skin looks rough and flaky, with thin crusty scabs. Jessner peels may be repeated in as little as 21 days. A fresh new look to the skin is achieved. Sun protection is a must during and after this treatment peel.

TCA Peel

A slightly deeper peel than the Jessner, TCA peels are used to treat more complex disorders of the skin such as acne, hyperpigmentation and premature aging. Multiple peels may be required to achieve the desired effect. Healing time averages fourteen days. Multiple visits are required for each peel, consisting of a consultation and patch test, application of the chemical solution and a post treatment facial. Application of sun protection is required during and after this treatment peel.
